Thundershirt?

Has anyone used a thundershirt & had sucess? We have an almost 10 year old Shiba Inu who has always been skittish. I feel bad for her & she seems to be getting alittle worse as she gets older. Someone suggested a thundershirt. She jumps at noise & nervous if things are out of place. I feel like she is stressed a lot. She spends a lot of time either on our bed or under it.

Thundershirt?

I have not used one on my dogs (however I really should), but two friends of mine both have dogs who are just like your Shiba. I mentioned to them about the thunder shirt and both of them got it and swear by it. I am almost positive Bed Bath and Beyond sells it and you can use the 20% off. I've also come across it in Home Goods. I will def be picking one up for the summer. My rotty is scared crapless of fireworks and the summer is just miserable for her.

Re: Thundershirt?

I have an English Bulldog that gets very scared when it rains or thunders and the shirt didnt seem to work much for that purpose, but it might be worth the try for your pup.

You can also use a tight fitting t-shirt or other tight fitting doggie clothes for the same effect. I find my chihuahua has a lot more confidence when he wears clothes. He doesn't like putting them on and taking them off but when he has clothes on he is a lot less neurotic. Plus if the weather is wet or cold he is more inclined to go out side to make when he has clothes on vs when he is just naked in his fur.
