Kindergarten birthday... boys and girls?
My dd wants to have a dance party, which obviously isnt geared for the boys. My husband is insistant that we invite both girls and boys to her party, so she should have it somewhere else.
Curious about whether most of you have invited both boys and girls at this age?
thanks

My ds would love a dance party. He loves that part in kzam. I don't think it matters if it was all girls or mixed though!!

Re: Kindergarten birthday... boys and girls?
I will be inviting DS's whole class b/c it will be at a place that has an arcade, go carts, etc Things that appeal to both genders. A girl in DS's class just did a princess tea type party and only invited the girls in the class. I saw the mmo at another birthday and she was all apologetic but I told her not to be, it made sense. I think with a dance party you will be fine either way. My DS would love to go to a dance party LOL

Re: Kindergarten birthday... boys and girls?
In Kindergarten, we invited DD's whole class. Party was at McD's. When she turned 4, we had it at her dance school. We had boys and girls there. Not at all geared specifically to girls. It was not all ballet...just a lot of jumping around and dancing. Can totally be for boys too.

Re: Kindergarten birthday... boys and girls?
My DS LOVES to dance and so do all his friends! They would LOVE a dance party!
We always invite girls and boys to parties because we have friends that are both. I didn't invite the whole class this year because we had 26 kids without the class! But, the year before I did and I invited both even though it was a sports party because DS wanted to - the girls had just as good of a time!

K/1 is when you start to see less coed parties and more gender specific parties - i think either way is fine

Re: Kindergarten birthday... boys and girls?
I think for K an dance party can still be co-ed.
Why not?
I've been to bounce house parties where they turn on the black lights, pump up the music and it's pretty much the same thing.
If # of children is an issue, I could see limiting it to the girls but for K I would invite boys to a dance party if she wants them there.
Recently, DD was invited to a mini-golf party and a laser tag party and we never said it was a "boy activity".
