Cat experts -Advice - litter box related
I posted something similar a while back....
My cat is 15 and has never had an accident outside the litter box. Lately, every few days she is pooping on the kitchen floor. I have caught her scratching the floor just before she goes, so I have been able to stop it. But when I am out or overnight, it will happen. I brought her to the vet and she is healthy- no medical issues. I just don't get why sometimes she poops in the littler box and sometimes she doesn't.
The only thing I can think of is, 4 months ago, we took a kitten in. SOmetimes Bella (15) will be in the little box and Zoey (kitten) will be waiting by the door, waiting to pounce on her. Bella does not like Zoey and does not want to play, so maybe it stresses her out that Zoey is waiting by the litter box? If I see Zoey doing that, I put her in another room until Bella is finished.
Thoughts?

Totally agree. Also make sure the kitchen area where Zoey is going is completely sterilized.

Sounds like your cat is going though litter box avoidance. I would get TWO new boxes and take the covers off.

Did you change litter? MY little guy was going in our bathroom sink because he didnt like the litter we bought. Once we went back to the one we always bought he stopped.
