Ozzie is acting a bit off, any insight??

Today for the very first time in a year and a half since we got Ozzie he refused to eat dinner. Just walked away from it. He took treats and seemed okay but didn't have his usual energy - instead of playing a lot like he usually does he was just sleeping. We coaxed him into eating half a bowl about 2 hours later than normal. He seemed okay after that, played a bit. Then DH was scratching him and he sort of yelped/squealed once. We were like WTF? So DH scratched the same spot to see and he did it again and then walked away from DH and crawled into my lap. We did a search of the area and found a small, pink bump where he seemed uncomfortable. It looks like a pimple. Could a pimple cause him this much pain and discomfort to the point of not wanting to eat? I'm so concerned.

It does sound like something is bothering him in that area. My dog has gone through that...since he was young, seems to sprain his leg/shoulder. Drs never find anything and it comes and goes. He will squeal if we pick him up odd or scratch him roughly and somehow agitate his bad spot (we arent 100% sure where it is). Could be a pimple in your dog's case, don't pop it whatever you do and keep an eye on it.

I would take him to the vet if he doesnt act normal within a day or two. Hope he goes back to his normal self and you dont have to worry anymore.Chat Icon

This morning DH said he ate half his breakfast and had a bit of diarrhea (sorry if TMI). I've texted his dog walker to update me after his walk at noon. Maybe it was a treat he had over the weekend that bothered him or something, or he picked up a little bug at the groomer? If he isn't back to total normal tomorrow DH will take him to the vet.

Thanks, his isn't on the recall list.

He yelped when DH got a spot basically halfway down his body on the side. Not the paws or joints or anything, just a random spot in the middle of his body. I should hear from his dog walker in the next hour or so.

Thank you!!! Yes, he ate his breakfast at some point during the day yesterday and ate dinner like normal. He was up and alert all evening and seems to be okay! I'm hoping it was just a quick bug that came and went, or DH thinks maybe anxiety because he had a weekend filled with other dogs which doesn't happen usually.
