Good luck on your journey. We too have thought of adoption and will not cancel it out in the future. I think it's a beautiful blessing!

Re: Does God work in mysterious ways?

so beautiful!!! I'm so glad you got some perspective and see adoption in a new way!
As an adoptive parent, I can tell you its an AMAZING thing!!! We adopted my son from Korea last August (so 7 months ago). We waited a year from being matched with him until we could bring him home (and 6 months of paperwork before being matched!) and he was 21 months old when we brought him home. It was the hardest thing I've ever done to get pictures and updates of him while we waited and know that the little boy I loved was across the world Chat Icon But, the day came, hes here and hes AMAZING!! I can't even tell you how well he has fit into our family-- everyone says he is the perfect match for us Chat Icon So, yeah, God definitely works in mysterious ways sometimes Chat Icon
ANd I can tell you that even though hes not my biological child... hes still a REAL child. He laughs at me and calls me "mommy". He runs to DH when he gets home from work and says "Daddy!!!". We still get to teach him things, take him places and show him things. We still need to make sure hes fed and clothed. HE gets up throwing up in the middle of the night and needs me to comfort him. We'll still have to bail him out of trouble when hes a teenager LOL These are ALL things I would have to do if he was my biological child, and all things that make me a MOM.
Good luck and definitely FM me if you have any questions Chat Icon
