What level should a kindergartener be at the beginning/end of the year?

In the beginning..A/B or pre primer..matching pictures to words and seeing pattern books (ie. "I see a (and picture matches the word)")..by the end of the year, kids can be at B/C but by end of first, should be level H/I (second grade is J)..there's a big jump between K and 1

My district wants them leaving on a D to be on level..We follow the Fountas and Pinnell Instructional Level Expectations Chart...F&P Chart

Most districts say D. Keep in mind that D is also benchmark for December of first grade.

Not anymore in my district...on level is now an F in December of first grade...they want the kids to maintain/increase to a D/E for September!

Yes close to the same.
I at end of first
Its n or o i think for 2nd

J wouldnt make sense that is only 1 level

Next yr we are moving to lexile levels
