What about a consultant to lawyers? I know someone who used to consult on medical malpractice cases.

I have heard that some non-profits pay towards benefits for PT employees.
Also maybe look into working in home care.
Schedules tend to be a lot more flexible and there are a variety of duties that need to be covered.
There's someone who works for us right now for example, who just goes out to do PRI/Screens for us and gets paid for that.
I know that usually involves a certain training though for RNs.
I've known RNs who worked P/T for CHHAs who went out to help the pt with med pours.

The pharma companies employee Nurses. There are different types of positions.

also I would look into electronic medical record companies - one is Epic- they have trainers for training medical centers to use their systems and base in nursing would be helpful

What about an NCLEX teacher? My company hires them. Maybe a curriculum writer also?

With a degree in nursing and computer ed. you might want to try Nursing Informatics. It is a nice blend of the two professions.

Insurance companies hire nurses in the claims departments to review claims submitted for various reasons (explain injuries and treatment, review for appropriate treatment, etc)..
