Outstanding SEIT
My son has an outstanding SEIT teacher that has gone way above & beyond and I seriously cannot even begin to thank her. This woman needs recognition.
Will a letter to the BOE just get pushed to the side or will she get the recognition she deserves from the powers that be? How powerful are parent recognition letters ? I'm looking into writing one.
Thanks

Re: Outstanding SEIT
If she is a SEIT she is probably hired by the agency, not the district. I would write a letter to the head of the agency.

Re: Outstanding SEIT
That's so nice of you to want to acknowledge a wonderful teacher ! I agree that the head of / director of the agency should get a letter, however with politics and typical nonsense in all workplaces, I would send it to more than one person. I'm also a SEIT and at one place I worked at, one of my coworkers got in trouble when a parent went in to request her for their younger child as well and they spoke about how wonderful she was... This poor teacher got ripped apart. Hopefully not all work places are like this, but you never know the dynamics within a workplace and whether that letter / teacher will be given the recognition it / she deserves. Maybe you can send it to a few "higher ups" at the agency, as well as one or two people in the county offices. If you're in Suffolk I can help you with who to send it to.
