ISO generous Dentist
Forgive the length, but I feel if I'm asking for help you have the right to know who you'd be helping and why.
I'm a 56 yr. old disabled woman desperately in need of new dentures. Due to medication taken at birth, my 2nd teeth came in without enamel on the them, so I was never a "lack of dental hygiene" patient. I got them finally at age 40 while I was still working. Raising children as a single mother before this age, made getting my teeth fixed a luxury I'm afraid I could never afford
Fast forward to now, my dentures are worn down to the point that they are flat (found out I'm a night time grinder), and the bottom plate is broken and cuts my cheek so badly I can't stand to wear them. I have choked so many times while eating because I can't chew properly, so there is definite health risk involved. Not to mention that the way I look now does anything for my already suffering self esteem at becoming disabled at such a relatively young age due to spinal issues.
SSD is my only income, and Medicare pays so little of the cost of new dentures I'll never be able to afford it. I would be so grateful if I could find a dentist willing to accept what Medicare pays for a new set of dentures, I can't even find the words to express it.
Is there a "Denture Fairy" out there?
