Colitis in Dogs?

My poor doggy has been diagnosed with colitis a couple months ago. This week, she ate some grass and had another bout, and now passed some blood.

Anyone else have experience with this with their dog or cat?

She has meds, but i feel so bad, she can't control when she goes, she's sooo lathargic, and won't eat.

I have a jack russell, she's 9 years old

Someone on here had boxer's and one had colitis - she got a doggie door and he was able to go outside when he needed to go. It resolved a lot of problems.

My cat, Mr. Blue, has an auto immune disease and colitis. Oddly, it's emotional for him...whenever he's stressed or is under stress (like I go on vacation, leave him with strangers, people stay over, etc.) he gets it. It was really bad as a kitten...and no doctor could diagnose it since they thought it was coccidia. The bloody, mucus and soft stool broke my heart. Anyway, I found a TERRIFIC vet who diagnosed him immediately and gave him steroid shots to control it. He also stopped vaccinating him since he's an indoor cat, just gave him tithers to gauge his immune system. I love my vet, go see him for a second opinion. We plan on brining Blue to NY for yearly check-ups when we visit.
