The next step....
So yesterday I got a BFP and today I called to make an appt to confirm. I can't get in to see a doctor for 2 weeks. Is this normal? Should I get concerned that I am not being seen right away? I am dying to tell our parents...it will make their day but I dont know if I want to tell before I get the "official" test....am I crazy??

Yes, you are crazy If you get a BFP at home the doc will tell you the same thing unless you start to M/C. Unless you want to wait for your sono to make sure there is a baby in there and all is well. If you want to spill the beans TELL YOUR PARENTS CONGRATS!!

I got my BFP 3 wks ago and my first appt is Monday. The hpts are very accurate and the drs. don't want to see you too soon. At 6 or 7 wks they should be able to hear the heartbeat. Don't worry too much about it.
