Tie-dye party- opinions
DD's b-day is in the beginning of July (she's turning 8). She wanted a backyard party, so we came up with a tie-dye t-shirt party. We'll provide the shirts and dye them with the kids, the only issue is they go home wet and need to be washed at home after they dry. So I guess my question is, would you be annoyed that you had to do whatever with the shirt after the party if your child attended? I don't want to put people out.

As long as you wrote on the invite to wear messy clothing and gave the shirts in a zip lock with instructions I think it would be fine. Have a great party.

As long as you plan accordingly, I think it's fine! Sounds like a fun idea!

Re: Tie-dye party- opinions
I like it! My friend had this activity at one of her parties (I had no clue) - it didn't bother me. They sent the shirt home in a baggie. I left it outside to dry and I washed and it was no issue.
It was awesome because tie dye always comes up as a day at special day at camp or school and now my boys have tie dye shirts...something I would never normally have bought for boys!

I agree. I'd definitely want to be prepared if my daughter was coming home with a tye dye wet tshirt. I could see her throwing it on the carpet or in a bag & forgetting it.
That's something you should definitely hand the parents on pickup & warn them about washing it.

Yeah I could totally see one of my kids doing that too! I was going to put their shirts in ziplock bags with washing instructions attached to it.

I wouldn't mind at all, however how long is the party? If you did the tie dye at the start of the party, would you have time to run an express wash and then throw the shirts in the dryer? Maybe label the tag so you can tell them apart?

Each item has to be separate from other things for the first wash. If I did that all of the dyes would run into each other and instead of tie-dye they'd be poop brown shirts
