Post babies belly
I am 3 lbs away from my pre pregnancy weight and about 6 lbs total away from an ideal weight for my height.
however my stomach is a wreck My skin is stretched and I still have fat.
Is it realistic that it will improve with another 6 lbs. I have been really focusing on ab strengthening etc but I am discouraged.
Please share your success stories.
How much difference does losing that last 5 or 6 lbs make?

Re: Post babies belly
I am almost 8 month PP and at my pre-pregnancy weight, but I am still not happy with my stomach. However, I also make no effort to improve it, lol. I eat all.day.long. How many months PP are you?

It's takes dedication and a lot of hard work, but it can happen!!!!!!! You can't focus on losing lbs only. That's the problem I think most people make. They focus too much on the weight. Strength training is extremely important. More so than just cardio alone, so make sure you are strength training too. I did a lot of core, ab work and it took some time, but my belly is back where I want it to be. In fact I think I'm in better shape now than before I got pregnant. I'm definitely more cut, especially my abs. So I'm telling you it is possible, but it does take hard work. What are you eating?? Diet is extremely important- I think more so than exercise sometimes. Try to avoid processed food, stay away from gluten, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I started eating clean and I think that's made the greatest difference in my waistline. There's no more bloating and my weight doesn't fluctuate anymore. I stay at my happy weight!!!
I also started running and that helped tremendously to tone and tighten my stomach but with strength workouts too. Focus on exercises where you focus on your own body weight as resistance; I find the machines don't give the same results.
Good luck!!! And don't be discouraged!! It does take time and dedication, but you can get to where you want to be.

Thank you for your response. I am eating really well. I started weight watchers 4 weeks ago and have lost 12 lbs. Not 100% clean but really no processed foods, limiting my carbs and lots of veggies and fruit. Along with some wine/beer all within my ww points though. I am trying to work as hard as possible and use my time wisely as I have 3 kids under 2.5. I used to be a huge runner but I had back surgery and really have to limit my miles. I am thinking of purchasing a spin bike but money is tight right now since I am on maternity leave. I was going to the gym before I had my 3rd but things are just to crazy right now to get there again. I have been doing strength training and started a calendar to help hold myself accountable and see when I am slacking off. Thank you!

Did your stomach go back after the twins?
I had my singleton first and then twin pregnancy but I have diastasis recti and my stomach, no matter how hard I work, will never look the same. If you PM me I will tell you my height/weight and you would THINK I'd have a flat stomach but it just isn't possible for everyone (despite what people say). I have a lot of stretched out skin that cannot be repaired without surgery.

Hoping toning helps a little. Surgery is not an option haha! Thanks

I'm not getting surgery (at this point) either... which is why you can find me rocking a "tummy tuk" bathing suit from Hapari! I'm fine with my body everywhere else...

Hate to break it to you ladies, but I am 4.5 YEARS post-partum and at my pre-pregnancy weight, but my stomach is still not flat!
I have a pocket of loose skin where my stomach was stretched out that doesn't go away. So even though I am happy with my overall weight and how I look in clothes, I won't be rocking a bikini anytime soon! But kudos to Jessica Alba and those other celebrity chicks who appear in US Weekly in a string bikini 2 mins after having a baby! LOL.
