Hempstead
What can you tell me about the Hempstead School District (working in it), specifically the middle school?
Thanks!

Re: Hempstead
Based on your other thread, IMO you're better off staying where you are...

Re: Hempstead
I worked in a district similar to Hempstead and it was VERY challenging.
If you like your current school, I would stay put.

Re: Hempstead
Newsday posted an article about how the Hempstead School district issued a summer reading list riddled with numerous typos...so....take from it what you will:
http://www.newsday.com/long-island/towns/long-island-now-1.1732330/the-great-gypsy-ornell-on-hempstead-reading-list-1.5655728
"The list, for students pre-K to “twelve grade,” has more than 30 mistakes, including misspellings of authors’ names and book titles.
In a statement provided to News 12 Long Island, Roger Tilles, a member of the New York State Department of Education’s Board of Regents, said, "It indicates again that a stable administration is absolutely essential for kids to get the kind of education they need. Hempstead has not had a stable administration for a long time and the kids are suffering."
