TOH shelter bursting at the seams! need adopters/fosters

Hempstead Town Animal Shelter At one point or another you were kind enough to open your hearts and your rescue/shelters doors to at least 1 Hempstead Animal Shelter animal (dog/cat). I am asking you again, if there is anyway you can help us by taking just 1 (dog and/or cat) animal from our shelter.
We are in DESPERATE need to find space inside our shelter. The canines and felines just keep coming, and even with a plethora of them in foster care, we still can't find the space. Currently we have at least 15-20 URI kittens (12 weeks old and under) filled in our Isolation area. We also have at least 20-25 healthy kittens; just sitting on our adoption floor. The number keeps growing as more people drop them off.
Canines come in all day and night long but within the shelter we don't have unlimited cage space; and that is the problem we are currently facing.
All our animals receive age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter (dental if needed at that time), microchip and behavior assessed. And even right now private adoption is free (it is always free for 501c3 approved rescues). It gets better, we can assist with transport if needed, we work with many transporters (including Pilots n Paws) to help get our shelter animals into the saftey transporters who will drive out of state for Shelter animals to be safe within rescues. We have had rescues utilize Pilots n Paws to get dogs up to VT in the past. If you are willing there is always a way!
Please choose Hempstead Animal Shelter as the next feline or canine you bring into your rescue/home. This is our plea to the PRIVATE AND RESCUE COMMUNITY. We need YOUR HELP!
PLEASE ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO ADOPT FROM US / OTHER RESCUES TO SAVE ANIMALS FROM US. TOGETHER WE CAN WORK TO SAVE MORE LIVES!
All our animals can be seen at www.petfinder.com or www.petango.com
If you are not a 501c3 rescue, and you'd be interested in adopting a dog or cat from the shelter, you can apply as a private adopter (currently free), please follow up with Nancy Giris [email protected] (Adoption Coordinator), Wendy Cariello [email protected] (Off-site Adoption Coordinator)
If you are looking to foster a Feline, or Volunteer at our shelter, please contact Dolores Stormo [email protected] (Feline Foster / Volunteer Coordinator)
If you are looking to foster a Canine or Adopt as a 501c3 Rescue, contact Shari Polen [email protected] (Canine Foster / Rescue Coordinator)
