Miscarriage-The Loneliest Place In The World

I never imagined how lonely this process would be. No one seems to understand or know what to say. I feel SO alone & feel like everyone thinks I'm over reacting. If I have to hear "it wasn't meant to be" or "you will have another one soon!" I will SCREAM!

That's all. Vent over. Chat Icon

Ugh!! I don't know why people can't just say 'I'm sorry" and that's it...
No one in my real life "got it", because no one ever had to go through one. Thankfully for them...

I received SO much comfort from this board. You are not alone! We are all here for you!!

Re: Miscarriage-The Loneliest Place In The World

I completely understand where you are coming from. The only person in my life who got it truly was a friend of my sisters who had experienced miscarriages herself. I heard a lot of unintentional hurtful things...for example my sister in law called and left a very cheery voicemail on our answering machine the day we came home from having my first d&C..she was going on and on about what they were doing for the weekend etc etc and I literally would have punched her if she had been in the same room as me....other said the usual " it wasn't meant to be" "you are lucky you have two healthy kids already" "two is way more than enough kids" " dont you feel like you are getting too old anyway?" " it could have been so much worse" etc etc....it would have been SO much better if people had just simply said " I am sorry this happened to you and I am here for you if I can do anything"

This board was the only place I would and could go and it saved my sanity.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Its heart breaking and painful in ways that no one will ever understand. I am 2 years out from my first and i still cry over it.

I had DHs aunt say "you are lucky to have at least one! My daughter isn't even lucky to have one!!!!" Chat Icon

Even my mom (whose never had a MC) has not been able to be a source of comfort. This is why I find myself here bc it's the only place I feel like I am understood. Even my doctor has been less than comforting.

((Sigh))

Hoping to pass the remaining blood before my next appointment.

I'm experiencing my second early miscarriage and NO ONE understands (except you girls, of course). This is now my second consecutive mc, even though both early, and it would appear I now have to see a fertility specialist... I'm so distraught, I can barely concentrate here at work. It is a VERY VERY lonely place to be.

I'm sorry. A MC is very hard to go through and I think unless someone experiences it they dont fully get it. This board is a great place to talk with ladies that understand. Many many hugs.

I had 3 early miscarrigaes in a row Chat Icon I know how lonely it can be especially when all my friends are either pregnant or not trying at all. I have become the one everyone is afraid to talk babies with which sucks bc I don't want to be the outcast. No one understands unfortunately.

I also had 2 early losses and it's definitely lonely and very difficult to get though, so I know how you feel! I am trying my best to feel optimistic while TTC!

You have no idea how much your messages have helped me pull through these past 2 weeks...Chat Icon

I know it's hard to be optimistic, but at least we can be optimistic for each other when we feel deflated and hopeless. Chat Icon

I'm glad you got through a rough week. THis board is great. I found it, and still do, to be very lonely. DH can't experience what I did, nor can friends, my mom, etc. Only thing helped me through was this board and a friend who unfortunately went through the same experience a few years earlier. YOu need to surround yourself with those who bring you comfort, otherwise, do what you need to to get through the really rough days.

Just to build on what the PP have said...no one, unless they have gone through a loss, truly gets it. And the kicker is, you don't want anyone to fully understand because that means they are feeling this inconsolable pain.

I found that some friends didn't know how to deal with me, and so they chose not to. Now that I have my DD (2 years after my first loss), those friends are trying to come back into my life. But those friendships are different now. I'm different now... Surround yourself with those who make you feel better and who will be by your side no matter what...

Sending strength....

I definitely know how you feel. I have had people say some really really ugly things to me over the last 7 weeks. I'm starting to learn who I can talk to and who I cant.
