Research Study !!

I just got this from the AFA -- of course I don't qualify but maybe someone can benefit from this info...

Opportunity to Participate in IVF Research Study

Reproductive Medicine Associates of NY is participating with Organon in a study for a new investigational long-acting gonadotropin. If the new drug proves to be effective, an additional benefit would be to make IVF more patient-friendly, as it would require administration of significantly fewer injections.

Individuals interested in determining whether or not they are eligible to participate should contact RMANY's research nurse Michelle Dane at [email protected]. Individuals meeting the following criteria would be considered for participation in the study and would be invited to make an appointment with one of Reproductive Medicine Associates of NY's physicians for an initial consultation. Those individuals would need to email the following information to Michelle Dane at [email protected].

The Criteria are as follows:

Age between 18 & 36
Weight 60 to 90 kg (130 to 198lbs)
Typical menstrual cycle length is 24 -35 days
Does not take medication for thyroid or prolactin disorders
Failed fewer than 4 ART cycles since her last successful pregnancy
Does not have a diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Does not have a hydrosalpinx (water in the fallopian tubes) that has been untreated
There are no endometriomas greater than 10mm visible on ultrasound
There are no fibroids greater than 5cm visible on ultrasound
Has not experienced 3 or more pregnancy losses
Has never had a FSH measured that was greater than 12 mIU/ML
Has not had an abnormal Pap smear within the past year
Does not smoke more than 5 cigararettes per day
Patients found to be eligible will make an appointment with one of the RMANY's physicians. RMANY will not charge patients any of the IVF related costs. However, there is a fee for anesthesia and an administrative fee.

Re: Research Study !!

I feel fine -- but I never get any symptoms of anything anyway - AF was always a surprise visitor. When I was pg last year I never would have known - except for the spotting later on. And the IVF meds had no effect on me at all.

Just trying to get through the days until next Wednesday -- another week! Chat Icon
