I don't wanna go back.
I know I say that every summer but THIS year, I really mean it. Between CC and Danielson and I'm sure a QR, it's going to be tough. And I LOVE my school. But they really are making teaching not a happy profession any more.

Last year was my last favorite year of teaching....and it's a shame because I had some really great kids in my classes! But all of the changes in education are really making it a drag to go into work everyday.
I'm trying to be optimistic about the coming school year. Happy thoughts only!

Blah. I have to leave my baby girl and get the worst kids in the school. All that with a quality review common core danielson and all the other "rigor"

I am going back to work after 7 months and leaving my girl too. My heart is breaking. On top of that I am teaching a new grade this year. On the positive side, I have the biggest classroom in the whole school and my class coming to me is awesome.

Since I've had kids going back to work has never been fun. But I think Conmon Core and the results of all the test scores are making it extremely hard. I am completely against what CC is doing to these'students. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful more than anything to have a job, but it's hard to like your job when you don't agree with the method behind it.

This is exactly it! DS has been so much fun to be with and it's going to be so hard for me AND for him.
I agree...I love my job and I am *secretly * excited to do new things with my munchkins. But I'm not ready for the beaurocratic (sp) busy work that is going to come with cc and danielson.

As an administrator, I don't look forward to any of these things either! If I could make comparable money else where, I would be there in a hot second!

Last year was a horror show between APPR, Common Core, a bad schedule and Sandy.
I was just thinking that it's one of the last free Sunday nights. I've loved not rushing out in the mornings and getting to play with DC
It's so hard to be a working mom and hard to be a teacher in a political climate of blame.
Ugh.....so in denial about it all.

This is the first year that I don't want to go back also. For all the reasons you said. I feel like I can't teach the way I want and that will benefit the kids. I have kids on 1st grade reading levels in fifth grade and they want them doing close reading on a fifth grade level. I don't get it.
