Re: Do you have a great taco dip recipe?

This is really simple and easy, but I use it a lot:

I spread 2 8 oz packages of cream cheese (can use 1/3 less fat) at the bottom of a 9 inch glass pie plate or other shallow baking pan. Top that with a jar of salsa, and top the salsa with shredded cheddar cheese (1 8 oz bag is usually perfect).

Pop it in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes, until hot and bubble.

Serve with tortilla chips, veggies, etc.

Of course you can add whatever else you want to the mix, but even the simplest version is always a big crowd pleaser!

I do the same but use no bean chili instead of salsa.

I do this also- but i use bean chili and salsa.. On top of the cheddar cheese i slice black olives for an additional flavor.

I also sometimes substitute Sour Cream with a taco packet for the cream cheese. VERY YUMMY

I do it a little different each time depending on what I have on hand. Typically, I start with refried beans, add taco meat if you want, then sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, then salsa, diced tomatoes and red onion, top with cheese. Pop it into the oven until the cheese is melted.

Re: Do you have a great taco dip recipe?

i like this cold taco dip recipe:

cream cheese with taco seasoning (a lot of it!) and then i layer diced tomatoes, black olives, green peppers, shredded mexican cheese, and lettuce with it.

you could also add beans if you like beans. i prefer it without.

I do this...BUT before all the lettuce & such, I do a layer of salsa, & some sour cream.

I also do the cream cheese-hot dip too. Depends in my mood.

Yes! This is how I make it. It's so good with just cream cheese, salsa and cheddar. I used to use beans and all other kinds of stuff but this way is much better. The only thing I do differently is strain some of the liquid out of the salsa before putting it in.

Re: Do you have a great taco dip recipe?

I use a can of refried beans and add some chopped onion, jalapenos (or crushed red pepper), taco seasoning, and shredded cheddar. I nuke it, mix it up, and add sour cream, tomatoes, and lettuce. This is one of my home alone for dinner and don't feel like cooking meals.
