Native American field trip ideas?
In 4th grade we're doing a unit on the Iriquois as part of the new ELA modules. Looking for a nice, hands on field trip to take the kids on related to Native Americans. Does anyone have anywhere you know of here on Long Island?

My daughter's old nursery school used to invite "tipi ted" every year. He would come to the school twice a year. The kids built a tipi, learned about Native americans. I understand he is part of the traveling wilderness museum out east. I believe they do programs for all ages. You could see if you could go or have him come to you.

Theodore Roosevelt bird sanctuary in oyster bay does a nice job with Native American studies.

Call Journeys program. It's an in school experience, full day. ABSOLUTELY worth it!
