I am writing you on behalf of Adopt A House, a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded by three days after SuperStorm Sandy hit Long Island. We currently have 537 registered families that we are helping get back on their feet by helping to rebuild our local communities by providing resources, supplies, financial assistance, support, valuable information, programs, mental health assistance, events and solutions to Long Island to affected families. We have become a pivotal force in providing support for area residents. Our collective vision was to help each and every home get back on its feet, and we are dedicated to making that happen. We are based in Lindenhurst, one of the two heaviest hit towns, as Lindenhurst and Long beach are unfortunately the lowest lying areas on Long Island. Many of our affected families are still living in hotels, at the homes of relatives, or in half-finished homes. Some have had to walk away from their homes entirely due to mold and the lack of funds to rebuild.

?Adopt A House, due to its wonderful volunteers and generous donors, has successfully run multiple projects around several needs.

On October 6th, the Adopt A House organization will be hosting a fundraiser. We will have a high-profile and well-publicized booth at the Lindenhurst Oktoberfest event, a festival and affair that draws hundreds of attendees from the area. We will be fundraising by having children paint pumpkins for a nominal fee and performing raffles of gift certificates, gift cards and items. All proceeds will go directly to the affected families, many of whom are still displaced or in dire need of assistance in rebuilding their homes and purchasing supplies, furniture, replacing household items and more.

We would like to inquire if you would be willing to donate any amount, gift certificate, gift card or any items for us to raffle off. Adopt A House has a high fundraising goal and would appreciate your donation. Your contribution would greatly help our organization acquire funds to distribute to our registered families. Should you extend your generosity by donating for our event, that would help make Adopt A House fundraiser's event a huge success.

In return for your generosity, Adopt A House will be placing a large and prominent board with a billing for your organization for providing assistance and pumpkins in front of our booth, receive a formal thank you letter, receive a tax write off, a thank you on our website, an acknowledgement, endorsement and thank you in a specific email letter distributed to our 537 registered families and a thank you on our facebook site which currently has 1,820 friends and followers, which would appear in their news feed. All acknowledgements to our families would include a link to your website and we would be happy to distribute or have on our table any brochures or coupons to your business. We believe this publicity would be a positive and potential business-generating opportunity for you as well as an act of community support.
