Your fridge..

How do you organize your fridge? Does certain items have specific spots? Where do you put your milk? Shelf or side?
Just curious how you organize your fridge!

Re: Your fridge..

My fridge, like my life, is a disorganzied mess.
However, milk should be stored on a shelf in the very back of the fridge. Like against the back wall.
It's coldest back there and I have gotten at least 2-3 more days shelf life out of my milk since I started storing it back there.

Re: Your fridge..

i clean and sanitize my fridge every 2 weeks. im OBSESSED!!!!!! ( currently its empty because im never home) but when its stocked i have:
1 baking soda stuck on the wall and a small box on the door
milk is placed on the second shelf in the back
everything that will spoil soonest, as well as leftovers is placed on the top shelf on the right side

i also replace condiments every month-month and a half.

as far as my freezer goes:
if food has been in there for a few months it will get thrown out. im a BIG eater and if 2-3 months go by and i still havent touched it, i never will so i dont see the point in keeping it in there.

Re: Your fridge..

I always keep my meats toward the back to keep them the coldest. Other than that, it's wherever there is room because my fridge is so damn small.

you replace condiments every month? even things like ketchup, mustard, or soy sauce that won't go bad and don't get used up in a month?

Your fridge..

Everything has a certain spot in my fridge. I keep our milk on the door and never had problems with spoiling. All the fruits stay in the front on the middle shelf with bread, eggs and coffe and yogurts on the top shelf, and drinks on the bottom shelf.

Bread will get stale faster in the fridge and fresh garlic bulbs should be kept in a cool, dry place like a pantry.

As for my fridge, everything has a specific spot. And I do mean everything. lol. I like to be organized, I can't function in chaos. My pantry is also organized into "zones" and everything has a spot. Baking zone, junk food zone, cereal/breakfast zone, etc.

Re: Your fridge..

In general,
Top shelf I have drinks like milk, juice, my Brita, coffee creamer, soda.
I keep yogurt containers all together on the second shelf, as well as eggs & cheese.
Below that I have a shelf for fruits & veggies.
On the bottom I have my bread.
Sometimes things get shifted though, I'm not too strict about where things belong.
Everything else is mostly just wherever it ends up.
Condiments are on the door.

Yeah pretty much this.

Milk we keep on the top shelf.

Veggies/Fruits in their bins.

ANything that can fit on the door is on the door.

Everything else is random.

Re: Your fridge..

My fridge is organized because it is one of those side by sides that I absolutely hate because there is no room.
I want to be able to reach in and grab something, or know what to move to get to what I want.
Top shelf is for tall stuff, the milk, oj, seltzer. My quart sized yogurt containers are up there too. Middle shelf holds eggs, mayo, jarred and fresh pickles, olives.
Next shelf down holds the cold cuts, bread (hate it in the fridge but that's where DH wants it), big water jug.
Bottom shelf holds the salad spinner with washed salad, and other items that I do not need often.
Fruit bin and veggie bin hold the obvious.
Doors hold butter, jam, bottled salad dressing, mustard, other condiments.
Each has it's place.
Freezer side is organized by food type.

My pantry is organized. Each shelf is devoted to a type of food and labels have to face forward.

It's not obvious that I'm a neat freak.
