A co-worker said this author used to be a romance novelist turned thriller/suspense. Anyone read her? Suggestions of your favorites by her?

I read a book by her, on my Mom's recommendation and wasn't really impressed.
Her female character seemed to try to hard or something.
I don't know.

I've read several books by her. Some are fantastic and some are....eh.
Try Ashes to Ashes or A Thin Dark Line.
