Is anyone running the Garden City Turkey Trot?
I'm seriously considering signing up for this. I haven't run a race in almost 2 years and am looking forward to running something longer than a 5 K. Is anyone else running this race?
For those who have run it before, I was wondering how crowded it gets, how flat the route is, what your experience has been, etc.

I ran in 08 and debating running this year. It's a pretty flat course. It gets really crowded and it starts and ends on Stewart ave which gets shut down fir the race. I parked at the train station and walked up the hill to St. Paul's and the start line.

I am! Did last year and I wanted to die! There are some small hills it wasn't entirely flat as they said it was. I was cursing out that map every time I hit any kind of angle. But I was not prepared at all. I am excited for this year though!

I did it last year and loved it! Such a fun atmosphere! I thought it was pretty flat. I almost puked at the finish line but that will teach me to drink wine the night before a 5 mi race  I'm registered for this year too!

Long Beach does their Turkey Trot the sunday before Thanksgiving (the 24th)...its a 10K, I'm excited for it! It was cancelled last year due to the storm, and will take place on the beautiful new boardwalk!
