Can I go just one week without hearing about another announcement?
ANOTHER couple just announced on facebook that they are expecting. In May. Sweet Jesus I just want to get through one week without hearing about another pregnancy or birth announcement, can I not even get that?
And of course, because of the fight last week between me and DH about all this I had to walk away to have my cry.

these kill me, i'm happy for them, but this hurts so much inside that i can't just be one the many who has an "unplanned" pregnancy!

I'm always so afraid that it'll take away the "specialness" of our pregnancy - that it'll feel like everyone is just thinking that we're "jumping on the baby bandwagon".

This exactly. Who gives a flying fluck what everyone else thinks??! This is all about you guys and bringing your little one into the world!
ITA. It took 2 1/2 years to conceive this baby. So many people I know had their first and some even went on and got pg with their second while I was struggling. It wasn't easy but it happens and there's nothing you can do about it and it sure as hell does not take away from the specialness of your pregnancy. Not at all.

ITA. It took us 36 cycles to get pregnant including 3 IVFs and 1 surgery for my DH. If anything, I feel like this makes the pregnancy even more special and people who know us and our journey are truly happy for us. We always get more than the obligatory congrats.
Also - I always tried not to get too upset by people announcing on FB because you might not know their backstory - the story people tell may be different than real life. I have a friend who pretends she is indifferent about having children to EVERYONE, but has been doing IUIs for over a year now - if she got pregnant, most people would think it was an accident. We just announced our pregnancy and 95%+ do not know our backstory. I think your best bet is to try to minimize your FB activity. My DH did this during our incredibly rough winter/spring last year, where just about every married couple we knew was pregnant.

You are all right, I know it, it just sucks when I see the updates. I stay away from FB as much as possible but with so many friends' brithdays coming up (all turning 30) most of the invites are happening on there, so I check periodically for updates and of course it's always the first thing I see - stupid facebook algorithm!

It sucks but one day it will be YOU making the announcement. Try not to get bitter. Believe me I know how hard that is. Just have faith your time will come!!! Easier said than done. I waited many years for my BFP and 9 months with an RE. It can happen. Just keep believing!!!!

I was looking for a pumpkin icon and couldn't find one, so I tried using the pumpkin icon and it just showed as ?????
They do both kinda look like deer in headlights with that.

Def not. In fact it makes it MORE special. When I would come on lif when I was pregnant I would mostly lurk until the end. It would make me insane how people would complain about everything. I knew what a blessing and miracle being pregnant truly was. I would never ever ever complain.
And stay off Facebook!!!!
