UPDATE: Day 55 and NO AF!!
Uggghhhh I am WAITING for the b!tch to show so I can start my first round of clomid/timed BD and it's day 55 and no AF! I went to the RE 2 weeks ago and they did a sono and checked my hormone levels and the doctor thought at that time that I O'd super late (I have PCOS) and should get AF so he told me to not take the provera yet. NOW WHAT?? And if they do say take provera, I feel like I am setting myself up for failure since I forced my period to come and this first cycle will be a bust. And no, not pregnant. Just really, really screwed up. This was my first few weeks on metformin, can that have caused this super long cycle?
UPDATE: Went to the RE his morning, they took blood and did a sono. They just called me back. Looks like I did O but super, super late. If AF doesn't come by Monday they want to me to go back in on Tuesday again for more bloodwork and another sono. Why not just have me take the provera at this point?!?! Ugh.

Re: Day 55 and NO AF!!
Call your RE tell them you haven't gotten AF yet. They might want you to come in for a blood test to start the provera or to see if you did in fact ovulate.
Don't feel defeated, I almost always need provera to start my period. I wasn't ovulating on my own.
P.S. - this cycle I didn't ovulate (forced ovulation with trigger shot) until day 57! It can happen it just takes patience.

Re: Day 55 and NO AF!!
Thank you so much for your response. I called and they told me to go in tomorrow for blood work and another sono. I just can't believe it's taken so long.

Re: Day 55 and NO AF!!
I have PCOS also, and Day 55 and no AF is something I was used to a lot. It sucks. It's the worst, because I kept thinking I was pregnant and kept taking tests and nada. Provera def helped and once I took that and period started, went in for my sono/blood work and then started Clomid. It also took my body a few months to get used to Metformin when I first started taking it. Your body's going through a lot and hopefully soon it can regulate. Hang in there. TOtally know what you're going through and it sucks :(

Day 55 and NO AF!!
theres no reason taking provera would set you up for failure. its pretty common to take provera to bring on AF especially for PCOS ladies, it has no bearing on the next cycle. also with PCOS a 55 day cycle isnt uncommon either although i would assume you didnt O or your Oed very late. good luck

Re: Day 55 and NO AF!!
Thank you ladies. It's just so different for me this cycle. Longest I have ever gone was 38 so day 55 is totally new to me and was looking for a "why." Maybe metformin will take a while to adjust to. So once AF comes after provera I can still move ahead with the clomid and timed intercourse?

Yup, that's what happened with me. Took provera, and on day 3 of my period, went in for a sonogram and blood work and was then given green light to start Clomid. On my second round now with timed intercourse. Didn't work first round.

If you ovulated then you could be pregnant and if you aren't you should get your period without the provera.
