Sort of spin off to stair runners...
If your stairs open to a landing at the top, where does the runner end? Ours opens to a small landing, so just wondering if we carpet the entire landing? Or does the runner just go all the way to the wall?
Also for those who have a cape and ripped up carpet on their stairs, did anyone not have wood floor underneath? DH is concerned it may not be real wood.

We have a landing but chose to just do the steps--so the last bit of carpet ends on the rise of the last step---there is nothing on the landing.
Because we chose a "busy" pattern I thought it would be too much if we continued on the landing/hallway.

We were going to do a runner, but decided not to. If we did, I would have ended it at the top of the last riser, and not go onto the landing
