Origami Owl still "in"?
I got invited to an Origami Owl party tonight and I'm not sure I want to go. I do really love the necklaces. I don't own one. Yet. But I see them as a fad. I really can't justify spending $100 or more on a piece of jewelry I'll wear for the next 6 months and never again. I know if it's something I truly love I'll wear it regardless, but my question is...
Is Origami Owl still "in"? I felt like I saw tons of women sporting them over the spring and summer but not so much anymore.
I know there are a few reps on these boards. I'm sorry if this post strikes a nerve. I'm really trying to justify (IMO) a large purchase right before the holidays. TIA!!!

I don't like to purchase any of those fad jewelry items as they are $$ and go out of fashion fast. I would rather save my money for something a little more expensive but timeless.

Origami Owl still
I just bought for my mom and SIL. My moms boss loved it so much I bought one for her too. I think they are really nice, never really knew about it until recently. I think if you like it, you'll wear it. I don't think it's a fad because it's a piece of jewelry.
I bought when the designer was running a special for 20 off and a free charm for every 40 spent. So honestly it was pretty cheap in my book. I don't have one but when I see my mom and SIL wearing it, I want it!

I have an everyday necklace so I didn't want one but they sell bracelets now so I got one of those. They are super cute!

I was checking out all the options online and got excited to go to the party tonight and order something. Well, party just got postponed and I can't make the new date. Oh well. Thanks for all the responses though.

Whether they are still in or not I have never seen the appeal.. I don't know why but to me they look so cheap for the price. I just don't like them at all. JMO

I'm not really a fan and I find it super expensive for what it is.

If you look at pictures on the internet or in a catalog, I can understand that, but the pieces are beautiful in person, and seem very well made.
I own 2 necklaces (one locket and one tag) and wear them all the time, I love them. They are very much my style so I don't see them as a fad but I can sort of understand why others would.
I also don't think they are very expensive, so buying these doesn't replace buying a higher-end piece of jewelry for me.

Re: Origami Owl still "in"?
As an aside, I just went to the website and those women that pop up look like a crazy cult and kind of scare me.
I hope this doesn't hit a nerve with anyone who may sell this stuff. I looked at a few of the items and they were cute.

Origami Owl is the first "fad" jewelry that I've actually bought. I think it just depends on your taste. It's not for everyone, but I happen to love it (and I don't sell it). I get compliments on mine all the time.

My friend sells it and my sis just bought one from her. I have to say I was surprised by the quality. It's really nice.

It's not my style either, but I think a lot depends on the size as well. I do not like the huge rings that are cluttered with charms. I like the medium circle and have 3 birthstones in it and that's it. I love it and am glad I bought it.
