Interactive globe toy?

Does anyone have one of these? I see a few out there and not sure which one to go with...anyone have a suggestion? (For almost 6 year old boy who loves to learn!).

We have the Intelliglobe with interactive pen.

I teach Social Studies and swear this has everything! Quizzes, national anthems, distance between places, life expectancy, currency, geography, culture, etc.

The kids play with it but so do some of my friends, especially the teachers, when they visitChat Icon

Do you have a tag reader? They have great maps of the united states and the world with all the continents, countries, etc. that go along with the learning pen. Not sure if that is what you are talking about though!

Same! DS LOVES IT. He will hear about a country or something on tv and run to the globe to see how long it takes to fly there, or how many people live there etc. Its very cool!

That is the #1 item on my 6 yr old's list!!! I was just googling them. I just wish the ones that get the best reviews weren't $150+. I was hoping to spend $100 or less. If you find any, please keep me in mind. I saw some on amazon in the 80-95 range but they only got 3 stars and reviews weren't great.

Thank you so much everyone! All this info was so helpful.

Since money is tight we went with the USA map and solar system for the Tag Reader.

My in laws might get the globe. Chat Icon
I like the price of the Oregon posted above, and I saw that walmart had one reasonably priced, but I forget who makes it.

Did you have any issues with upgrades or downloading info to the globe? I read that a lot when I read reviews on Oregon Scientific globes.

I honestly can't say. My husband handles all that, and I am not sure we have even updated it since we rec'd it.
