Hyperstimulation
Anybody have/had this? Was your cycle cancelled? How long did it take to go away? I am 5 days into taking the Follistim and on sono this morning I have 7 or 8 follicles measuring 10-12 but others that are smaller (they are 8-9 so they should measure more by next sono). Only 2 follies on the left and all others on right. Dr is getting concerned saying I'm at risk for hyperstimulation. They had lowered my follistim dose from 300iu to 250 after mondays blood came back. My estorogen level is really high which dr saysis good bc of my young age (I'm 29).

Re: Hyperstimulation
No help from me. Just wanted to send that your cycle doesn't get cancelled. I know you have been waiting to start for a while.

Re: Hyperstimulation
Is this an IVF cycle? The estrogen is the key factor here. I had over 25 follicles every time but my estrogen was always good so i did not hyperstim. I also triggered with lupron which helps….Good luck!!!

Re: Hyperstimulation
Not sure if my situation is the same of yours but my cycle was cancelled on Monday because I had too many follicles. I have to take BC pills now for 10 days to make sure the follicles don't turn into cysts and I have to call the RE on day 1 of AF and start the process all over again.

Yes it is IVF and the Dr. said my estrogen is really high- he said they look for over 100 as the level and mine is 350. That makes me feel better that you had so many follicles and high estrogen. I kept reading about hyperstim on mayoclinic and it was freaking me out!

Re: Hyperstimulation
How high is high?
For my first two cycles, my E2 levels were 4600 and 5300 on the day that I triggered. We still transferred embryos both times. I definitely had mild OHSS.
ETA: If your levels are too high, they may just delay your transfer one month and have you do a FET with the eggs that they retrieve.
Good Luck!

Hyperstimulation
I had OHSS and after my retrieval felt so terrible, I demanded to have my ivf doctor see me to check everything out. I was filled with fluid, thankfully I didn't have to go to the hospital. We did decide to cancel my fresh transfer because if you do get pregnant your ovaries will produce more hormones which was dangerous in my position. (We made the decision to cancel on day 4, when my doctor knew I would have some to freeze) I had 34 follicles, 19 mature, 11 fertilized and 4 frozen.
My second round of ivf, (I switched doctors) had just as many follicles 32 follicles, 29 mature, 19 fertilized, 7 frozen. They were aware of my OHSS and I didn't have any symptoms. I was like a new person and my estrogen was high that time too. They gave me a pill to take around my retrieval day to help and a Lupron shot both times.
Fm if you have any other questions.
