Favorite vegetable recipe NOT cooked in the oven
I LOVE most veggies roasted in the oven but thinking of different ideas to save oven space on Christmas. I was thinking a peas and onions recipe I saw. Any other easy stovetop type of veggie sides that would go great with ham & turkey?

Pepper bruschetta via Ina Garten
I made this appetizer for Christmas Eve to bring to my ILs house and it was a hit and very easy.
If you mean a veggie side dish, my absolute fave is always sautéed string beans with garlic and oil.

pan frying string beans on the stovetop in evoo and garlic.
steaming broccoli in lemon juice, on the stovetop or in the microwave.
candied carrots in the microwave- frozen carrots cooked in butter/brown sugar/maple syrup combo.
fresh chopped salads. whatever fresh veggies cut up, toss, have a salad dressing.

Favorite vegetable recipe NOT cooked in the oven
steamed haricot vert (TJs usually has them with a good price) or green beans, toss with a little butter or evoo, lemon juice, toasted almonds
carrots pan roasted whole (get the little fancy carrots)
shredded brussel sprouts sauteed in a pan
sauteed greens (kale, chard, collards, etc)

I steam Brussel sprouts then sauté them in a frying pan with olive oil, salt and pepper- it gives a similar taste to roasting in less time.

Favorite vegetable recipe NOT cooked in the oven
boil green beans for a few minutes. Remove from pan and saute some shallots & grape tomatoes with EVOO and salt / pepper - add back green beans - delish!

Favorite vegetable recipe NOT cooked in the oven
Green beans steamed and tossed with dried cranberries and balsamic is great. It is also good with broccoli and asparagus.

Cold brussel salad with cranberries, manchego cheese, bacon...warm vinaigrette...ugh so good!
