painters
can anyone recommend a painter and any idea what it would cost to paint at 1,800 sq foot home?
trying to decide if its worth it to do on our own or pay someone
got one price and it seemed high

We paid a family friend to paint our whole first floor, which is something like 1100 sq feet I think. Paid $3,500 for just his labor. Paint was an additional $1k (Benjamin Moore).

That seems like a lot, especially for a family friend. And a LOT for the supplies (I'm assuming more than just paint was included in that $1).
We just do it ourselves and it comes out looking exactly the same as our friends who paid someone to do it.
