Barbie Dream House or Kidkraft Dollhouse

Trying to decide which to get my 4yo. My husband thinks she'll like the barbie dream house better, but the kidkraft ones get much better reviews and overall look like better quality. Can anyone comment on both?

I can't comment on the Barbie houe but we bought DD a Kidcraft dollhouse when she was either 3 or 4- I don't remember. She is now 6 and still loves it. She alternates between the dolls that came with it, LaLaLoopsey and Polly Pocket. She likes Barbie but prefers to clear out a corner of her room to set up a place for those dolls.

BTW the Kidcraft house is great quality- it still looks new and it gets a lot of use. I like that it's wood.

Barbie dream house seems very mature for a 4 year old. Is your DC very into Barbie?

I just bought the Kidkraft they have at Costco. DD is 6. My thoughts on it are that the quality seems better for the same price. And DD can use her Monster High dolls or Barbie dolls with it. I think, overall, it will last longer. I like that it's wood.

There is really nothing mature about the Barbie Dream house. It's just a house. You don't *have* to use it for Barbies. Any other kind of dolls work with it, Disney Princess, etc.

With that said, it's junky plastic, so I would get the Kidkraft!

KidKraft Definitely. We have the Barbie plane and camper and they are made like crap. We have the KidKraft doll house and it is made REALLY well.

Re: Barbie Dream House or Kidkraft Dollhouse

I just bought my 4yr old niece a Barbie Dream house for Christmas and although I like the design and features better it is plastic and cheaply made. If my niece didn't specifically ask for the "Barbie" house, I would've bought the KidsKraft one. I essentially paid for the name. If you daughter does not have a preference then I would go KidsKraft.

Definitely Kidkraft. IMO much better made than the Barbie house. The Barbie house is plastic..I bought DD the smaller version last year and chucked it. It was horrible.

I don't know about the Barbie Dream House, but we have one from Kidkraft that DD adores. Good quality and sturdy.

Doll house! We actually got a Barbie Dream House hand me down. My friends daughter is a year older than mine. Since this past September, since it is has been in her room I have never seen her play with it and she is 6.5 with her fair share of barbies. I know she plays with the barbies thought.
