sono at 4wks??

Hey girls. This round I was on 50mg of chlomid. I went to see my fertility dr on CD 11. I have one follicle with an egg! yay! We decided to baby dance not use IUI. Anyhow my question to you is my doctor made me schedule an appointment for a sonogram about 2.5 weeks after I ovulate. So either during AF (which I hope isn't the case obviously) or around 4wk 4 days. I asked her if it was for blood work and she said no for a sonogram. Why so early? And why not blood work? Anyone have to see their doctor around this time? PS I see Dr Chu manhasset infertility group

Hmm that seems a little strange to me. Usually they will want you to come in for blood work and then if you're pregnant, they'll schedule you for a sonogram - if you're not, you start discussing the next plan.

Nevertheless I hope this is your lucky cycle! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

That sounds weird. If you get a BFN, that would put you in the office on the right day for the typical CD3 testing, which you have to do every cycle. Maybe she had you make that appointment "just in case"?

If you get your BFP and you're 4w3d, there will be absolutely nothing to see on a sono. You can't even see the sac until the following week, if I recall correctly.

Re: sono at 4wks??

I just found out some info for you...
Dr. Chu tends to have you come in for a beta and then does an early sono to check your lining. I'm assuming if it's not too thick, she will supplement you to help with the pregnancy. It's not to see the baby bc obv you can't see anything at 4weeks. Hope that helps!
