Weight Watchers Ideas

I need ideas of snacks and things that I should buy to be successful. I have a strong sweet tooth and love chocolate!

I need to have my house set up so I can be successful. I want to be able to eat dessert every night so I need low point ideas and shopping items to get.

Re: Weight Watchers Ideas

For daytime snacks or if I am hungry, I try to stick with "whole foods" -- fruits, veggies, low fat cheese or cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, nuts, smoothies, etc. I try to steer clear of relying on prepackaged snack and 100 calorie packs and that type of thing because they don't really satisfy me and I feel like it's "wasted" points in a way.

If I am craving something salty, I like the special K cracker chips (they come in different flavors like southwest ranch and sour cream and onion) or veggie straws... both are 3 points per bag.

For sweet cravings, if you like chocolate, the pudding is a good suggestion. Also hot chocolate (you can make it with skim milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and your preferred sweetener or just buy the light packets for convenience) or a chocolate smoothie (you can make your own with milk and or yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, and banana for thickener... or use the WW smoothies you can get at their meeting locations). Cocoa dusted almonds are a healthy way to get in your craving, or maybe even buying dark chocolate squares and savoring one per night with a cup of tea would work. Even 1/2 cup of chocolate cheerios with skim milk or almond milk could be a way to get your chocolate fix but not give in to too much junk food.

You can buy all sorts of "light" baked goods... vita muffin tops, WW muffins and brownies, fiber one brownies and bars, no pudge brownie mix. I try to make more homemade stuff if I can, but there are so many "lower calorie" baking recipes out there on blogs and websites. I like Emily Bites muffin recipes, and I've made chocolate chip blondies with chick peas from "Ambitious Kitchen." My friend made black bean brownies and said they came out good.

You can make little mock ice cream sandwiches with chocolate graham crackers and light cool whip and keep them in the freezer. Or just get portion controlled ice cream treats... WW or Skinny Cow is good, but sometimes even regular ice cream is not that big of a points hit if it's a controlled portion.

Even a bit of nutella or peanut butter on whole wheat toast or a whole grain waffle is a good option (you can even top with berries or banana).

Hope this gives you some ideas about where to start!

Not really dessert items but, these are good things to have on hand:

I really enjoy the laughing cow cheese slices spread on cucumber slices - two wedges = 1pt.

I also like the Fiber One 90 Calorie chewy bars in choclate caramel & pretzel. They are longer than the WW bars so they take longer to eat (and they are cheaper too) and are only 2 pts.

I also like the WW string cheese - the mozz = 1pt.
