West Islip or surrounding area - Need OBGYN Rec
I am thinking of leaving my current OBGYN.
I see Dr. Jurak with southbay obgyn and I really like her. But she doesn't see me as someone who has IF. She doesn't believe your AMH level means anything. She also doesn't think I even need an RE (Obv. I did) and said I shouldn't even think of IVF until I'm 40! By then I'll be in menopause. Being that I am no longer seeing my RE (Out of insurance for it) I want to be able to see my OBGYN who can help me. And believes there is an issue and who may be able to monitor me there.
I put a call in to Dr. Stellings office to see if he can recommend someone in the area. Thought I'd ask here too.

Dr Antoniadis. I was a patient at South Bay and left part way through my pregnancy. That office is a nightmare and Dr A is he complete opposite. I was high risk so I also saw a dr at Madonna but Dr A delivered. He is the nicest caring dr I have ever seen. If you do a search on here you will find other girls go to him.
If you have any specifics. Ask away.

Or if you really want to stay wil South Bay see dr Judge. He had me on clomid but will not do anything more. I do have to say no OBGYN will really monitor you.

I remember you recommending him before. I don't have an issue with South Bay (the front desk people can be a bit rough) but I just can't keep going there to a Dr. who doesn't believe I even have any fertility issues!
Does Dr. A believe in Low AMH being bad or take any steps in helping someone with IF? Like I said, I can't see RE anymore bc I ran out of IUIs and never had IVF coverage. So going there just for monitoring and TI at $50 a pop is just too much. But if a OBGYN is more knowledgable about IF, I would like to see that OB, ya know?
would they check for O on a monthly basis or only an RE will do that?

I did a cloud cycle with Dr. Judge and wasn't impressed. I'd say find someone you like and use the RE. I love DR. Pilleteri but some people can't take him. He came highly recommended.

Ugh...I had a few horrible experiences at South Bay. Will never return. They are beyond ignorant when it comes to infertility.

I use Dr. Antoniadis as well and as amazing as he is, he told me straight that all he could really do was put me on clomid and have me go for bloodwork to see if I ovulated...he's a one man show and admitted to me that IUIs would not be practical for him as a dr. and me as a patient...I think it would be hard to find a delivering OB that would do it since both being an OB and being an RE, essentially, are time consuming in and of themselves...you can always call him and meet and see what happens..I feel bad that you no longer have coverage for an RE...have you looked into IVF grants? Don't know if you have or haven't, but could be helpful? I wish you the best of luck and assure you you'd be in great hands with Dr. A should he suit your needs.

i know alot of people complain about him....but i recommend Mark Pillitteri also (in DP but out of Gsam or SS) i know you have issues similar to mine and he has been super supportive of helping me in my TTC journey. Some people love him ~ some hate but i think it has to do with long wait times more then anything else.

I went to Dr. Pillitterri on the advice of someone on this board. He did a lot of bloodwork for me that I wouldn't have gotten done otherwise, and some issues were discovered through that bloodwork, but I had a horrible experience with him. I had to wait three hours in the waiting room for my second appointment to get the results of my bloodwork. When he finally met with me, he spoke in such clinical terms I couldn't understand what he was saying and he kept cutting me off. After that 3 hour wait, where he told me "I know there are long waits, but I am worth it!" he only gave me about 10 minutes of his time, talking in terms that I didn't understand. When I asked for clarification he acted completely annoyed and just repeated exactly what he said the first time. I think that man has a God complex.

Run from South Bay for fertility issues. I foolishly started with them and they were about to do one of my iui's and threw out my dh's sperm. Nurse said she thought it was pee.

OMG!!!
I don't plan on having IUIs there. I honestly just want an OB who believes it have an issue and is willing to talk to me and get a game plan for TTC with me. Supplements, maybe low dose of femara and TI. Something. I hate leaving dr Jurak bc I really love her. But she doesn't believe I need any intervention. I got the "go on vacation and relax" from her after my ectopic last year. Not the kind of help I was looking for!

I too left South Bay after I found out I was pregnant (I had been going there for years). Dr. Jurak brushed off a pretty serious situation early in the pregnancy regarding bleeding and "multiple sacs." She rushed me out of the office telling me not to worry about it. She would not give me an explanation and didn't try to get back to me back in the office for weeks later. Dr. Pillitteri saved my baby. He took the best care of me. There are long wait times because he is so popular- but for me it is worth it. The only thing I do not like is his connection to Kofinas. I almost lost my baby because of Kofinas. Now I see ElKady and Wu at Good Sam and I am beyond pleased with the care I receive from them both.

Just got call back from Stellings office and the recommendation was Dr. Judge at South Bay.
I did not want to stay with the same practice.
I will look into the drs you guys recommended. Thank you

I have had issues with dr judge and that's why I left SB. He will do clomid and basic testing but nothing more than an iui.
Dr judge is also no longer doing OB just gyn from what I hear.
