Chia Seeds
Can you fill me in more on these little seeds?
Any particular brand, way to treat them, etc?
I keep hearing more & more about them & want to know more!

I like the Nutiva brand. They are amazing ! You can use for puddings, jams, put them in your cereal/ oatmeal, add them to smoothies. The uses are endless.

Re: Chai Seeds
Do you have any recipes?
If you just add it to oatmeal or a shake/yogurt how much? A tablespoon?

Chia Seeds
I use them in smoothies and make pudding. I soak a table spoon in water the before using them. I heard if you don't soak them they stick to your teeth.

Re: Chia Seeds
I've only put them into yogurt, & they didn't stick to my teeth. I did like the crunch/texture it gave it.

Where are good places to purchase?
I'm intrigued myself.
Does S&S sell in their organic section?

I also use them in my smoothies each day, like a pp said, you can make a pudding with them. They gel when wet so it thickens the smoothies, puddings etc. some ppl put them in their water to curb hunger. You've probably found they don't really taste, so you can add them to your salads etc.
Only for convenience do I get them at TJs. I don't think one brand is better than another

Re: Chia Seeds
I dont think brand really matters... I have seen them at stop & shop, trader joes, costco... I bought a giant bag on amazon. I use them in my smoothies (about 1 TB), in my oatmeal, yogurt & salads... I have even sprinkled them on my eggs while they were cooking... my co worker puts them in his water...

I buy mine at Trader Joes and make pudding out of them and love it!!!
I will find the recipes and share. I also love them in smoothies and I know some people drink them in water... I have had Kombucha chia drinks and enjoyed them!

Re: Chia Seeds
OMG! I made the "pudding" today with almond milk and a dash of vanilla extract, and I mixed in fresh blueberries.
I'm eating it right now and it's so good!

Re: Chia Seeds
I put a cup of Almond Milk, 2 tbsp. of chia seeds, zest some lemon and blueberries in a jar with a lid. Shake it up, put it in the fridge for a few hours and it kid of gels up. Its got a different texture at first but it is tasty so I got used to it...

We get Bob's Red Mill brand from the supermarket. I add a spoonful to water and add lemon juice. I let it sit in the fridge until they soak up the water. I have it every morning. fills me up and keeps me hydrated. Love them.

Re: Chia Seeds
Here are several of my fave recipes :
http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/11/pumpkin-chia-seed-pudding.html
http://ohmyveggies.com/recipe-mexican-chocolate-chia-seed-pudding/
I also love to put 1 to two tablespoons in my smoothies. Another favorite is combing hemp seeds, chia seeds and almond milk. I then top it with some raw honey and berries. So good !

Re: Chia Seeds
I got a huge bag at Costco. I soak 2 tbs in water (I follow directions on package) and put in a tupperware for the week. I mix them in DD's yogurt and I put them in my oatmeal!
