Contractor recommendation for NYC please!
We're in the process of buying a co-op in Midtown East, but the apartment needs work.
Does anyone have any contractor that they can recommend?

I would check with your co -op board because usually they will only allowed certain contractors in the building.

We have a condo in midtown east & I always ask our super for a couple of suggestions. I get estimates and decide who I want to go with.
He never steers me wrong.

Good point about asking the board.
My only concern is time.
It is almost Feb. now, and we are in the middle of the mortgage process.
Hopefully closing will be this month ? (i don't know the whole process/timeline)
Once we close, the contractor will have to submit plans/get board approval for the work.
They have to do their work...then we have to clean up and then move in and get everything setup by May.
Baby comes end of May!
=)
Hopefully there's enough time for all that.
We had our bathroom redone last year and it took 2 months for approval/work/etc....and that was just a tiny bathroom.

This…..also your super may be able to do it as well. My Dad's super was awesome and re did both of their bathrooms, priced well and they came out gorgeous.

Contractor recommendation for NYC please!
Bringing this back up....
Got 6 names (1 from the super of the new building)
1 guy kept having excuses why he couldnt come in for an estimate.
5 came in for an estimate:
2 never replied
2 don't have the proper licenses
1 is super expensive
Looking for other ideas.
