Has anyone used Kofinas in conjunction with an RE?
I want to use Kofinas and an RE at my current practice together, but I have already determined that they do not see eye to eye. Each has told me this in their own way separately when I told them I saw the other. It makes things uncomfortable, but I am really determined to make all of this work.
Both drs told us to try on our own for a few months (after 3 failed FET's last year...and I only have one tube after 3 losses in 2012). I really thought I was pregnant this last cycle and got AF yesterday.
So on we go. I have a water sono with my RE this week just to check things out (had HSG last month) and want to get on board with Kofinas (haven't seen him since he put me on Metformin in December). He said he would monitor me closely to see when I would ovulate.
Any advice? Has anyone seen him in conjunction with an RE?

I was seeing Kofinas during IUI's. I then went to an RE, took a break from Kofinas! and went back to Kofinas at 12 weeks when Re discharged me.

Re: Has anyone used Kofinas in conjunction with an RE?
Thank you. I'm so confused as to who should be monitoring me, especially bc we are trying on our own for another cycle or two before moving onto IVF

Re: Has anyone used Kofinas in conjunction with an RE?
I saw Dr.Kofinas prior to getting pregnant mostly to make a plan for once I did get pregnant. I went through several losses at that point (one I believe could have been prevented) so I wanted to be monitored literally from conception and have a plan in place. I did an IVF cycle with my re though that Dr,Kofinas played no part in. I resumed seeing him once I was pregnant at 5wks.

I could be wrong but I believe he works with Braverman? Who is your RE now?

Re: Has anyone used Kofinas in conjunction with an RE?
I saw Kofinas consistently every 1-2 weeks before I began my 6 th IVF until I gave birth. The technology he has and uses is amazing. He doesn't "work" with an RE per say because he is a MFM/peri. However, from experience, I know he does have a good working relationship with Dr. B. Most patients see him when they are already pregnant and released from their RE.

Re: Has anyone used Kofinas in conjunction with an RE?
Thank you, I appreciate everyone's feedback. This seems clearer now, that I should deal with him right after ivf. When I had my consult with him, he intended to help me get pregnant by putting me on meds to address the genetic thrombophilia he diagnosed me with. I think that's what has confused me, that I haven't been sure of his role. He offered to monitor me even prior to getting pregnant, but it makes more sense to stuck with one Dr at a time.
My RE is Dr. Keningsberg. I just started with him in November, having left RS of NY. I will not go to Braverman because of a really horrific experience I had with him and his office.
Thanks for all your input!
