just found out a friend is dealing w/IF

a long time friend just told me she is undergoing fertility treatments. Didn't expect it to hit me so hard, but for some reason it did. My whole body went rigid. I haven't even talked to her in a few yrs (she lives in a dif country), but it still hit me in the underbelly

A couple days ago there was a thread abt how u changed thru this IF journey. Thought very hard abt what it was for me, couldn't come up with anything other than that I felt sorry for myself. Now I know - its this overwhelming compassion to others and their fertility journey. Cant believe I was this jealous ball of resentment to others who were getting pregnant with no issues. Feeling right now even more ashamed of myself than before... I really do not wish this on anyone.

Had to share as I felt so overwhelmed with emotion right now when learning this.

I recently had a similar experience. I was always avoiding one of our married couple friends bc I was always waiting for them to drop the bomb on us. She just confided in me about her struggles as well. I felt horrible.

I posted the infertility petition on Facebook n couldn't believe the msgs I got about friends who it's affecting. Idk, but aside from my close friends I met through here, I thought I was the only one lol. I know what you mean.
