T25 and shakeology

I really need to get my butt in gear and start working out I was thinking abou t25 since I am pressed for time. Is it really hard? I haven't worked out in a while so my stamina isn't as good as it should be.
Also is shakeology good to have for breakfast. That is always my eating problem I eat breakfast on the go or in 10 min at my desk before my first class so I make poor choices. I tried Isagenix last year and it was great in the morning but it didn't work for me long term. I was instructed by my dr to stop it
Any thoughts on either are greatly appreciated

Re: T25 and shakeology

I have attempted doing T25 a couple of times. First time on my own, second time as part of a Facebook challenge group (my friend is a Beach Body coach). Both times, I fell off the wagon with following the program after about 3 weeks.

I did find T25 to be pretty challenging as a workout. It's a lot of high impact jumping type moves, which I don't love (maybe I am getting old, but its kind of hard on my knees, my bladder (lol), etc.). It's also pretty intense and nonstop - because it is only 25 minutes a workout, there's no breaks or recovery time. But there is a modifier to help you scale back the moves to lower impact or less intense (less jumping, or doing push ups on knees, that type of thing).

And I found it kind of boring. It's more of a boot camp style workout with constant squats, jumping jacks, planks, burpees, etc. And I think I do better with something more dance-based (like zumba) to hold my attention and have the music motivate me. I am not a big exercise-lover, though, so take my review with a grain of salt.

All that being said, the best part about it was the 25 minutes a day (making it do-able), but there is a double up day (Friday) when you are supposed to do two 25 minute DVDs, and then a 6th day of stretching. I think I'd almost prefer an hour long workout 3 times a week than 25 minutes every day! And Shaun T is pretty motivating, and I liked that they had the clock going the whole time, so you can see how much time is left.

I never did Shakeology, although I have tasted samples. I find it too expensive, I would rather make my own smoothies. And I am not a fan of drinking calories, so I don't find shakes or smoothies to be a satisfying meal replacement for me. But my friend and a lot of other women in my challenge group really like the shakes.

Hope this helps!

Re: T25 and shakeology

thank you that was very helpful, I usually like dancey ones better too, I have done hip hop abs but I feel like they are not doing it, I need to go more traditional
I see the shakeology is expensive but its got to be better than eating a mini bagel or a 2pack of coffee cakes every morning which is my breakfast every morning I agree with drinking calories but it would just be breakfast, I eat a relatively early lunch so I think it would hold me over
you said you tasted samples, how did they taste, I would probably get chocolate

Re: T25 and shakeology

I have a shakeology shake about once a day on average….sometimes I skip a day though. Once you get used to the flavor, they're not bad. I use almond milk and some Stoneyfield frozen yogurt - - - kind of like a good ol' milkshake.

I see a nutritionist who endorses Shakeology - - so she introduced me to it. She'd like me to have one a day because I tend to not eat enough or not eat enough veggies/protein - - and the shake would make up for what I'm missing in my diet.

With her controlled meal plan and Shakeology shakes, I'm down about 23 pounds in 6 months (2 sizes in my clothes). Now to start incorporating exercise…..since I've run out of excuses as to why I can't find the time to do that…..

Good luck to you!
