LI IVF Patchogue- Dr. Recommendations
I just posted this on the TTC board, but realized I should probably post on this board as well.
I am going to be making an appointment with a RE soon since my husband and I have been TTC for over a year for our 2nd DC. I had some preliminary testing done already with my regular OB which came back normal so I guess now it's time to move on. My OB suggested LI IVF and since I live near the Patchogue office I figured it would be convenient to go there. If anyone is going/or has gone there and has any feedback on this office or can recommend a specific doctor I would greatly appreciate it!
TIA

Re: LI IVF Patchogue- Dr. Recommendations
My doctor is Dr. Pena, I really like him and he goes to the Patchogue office he's there on Wednesdays and Fridays. I really don't know if any of the other doctors go to that office. I recently switched to the stony brook office only because I had an issue with my work schedule and the monitoring times and the way that my situation was handled by the staff just turned me off. I find that the stony brook office has a way better way of handling certain situations and Sharon the NP in stony brook is pretty much my life saver. She is such a complete sweetheart and I rather travel the extra distance for her. Also, I didn't like that on the days that's dr. Pena isn't in the office they don't always have even a nurse on staff in Patchogue. They just have the tech doing your Sonos. I like to see either the doctor or at least an NP, this is another reason why I switched to stony brook. This is only my experience I'm not trying to turn you away from Patchogue, don't get me wrong for the most part the staff there is friendly and nice but I just didn't appreciate the way that my situation was handled in that office. Good luck to you, let me know if you have any other questions!

hi, I went to Patchogue and hated the hours, the informality and the fact that they had a "semi broken sono machine" that wasn't always accurate? WTF?. If I had stayed with LI IVF I would have switched to the Stony Brook office for better service.

Also at other practices you always see the doctor or at least a nurse in private consultation. At Patchogue, the nurses speak to you through a reception window and do bloodwork in a closet. Sorry for the negatives but it is what it is. I never met with a doctor 1:1 and they way overmonitored me for an IUI.
