Breaking up with my OBGYN

I did it. I am no longer a patient at South Bay. I made an appointment with
Dr. Mark Pilliterri on March 20th.

I have been going back and forth about changing Drs. for a while and with the help of a few recommendations on here, I finally did it.

I felt bad at first because I like my Dr. But the fact that she still, after all of this, doesn't think I have a problem with fertility... I knew it was time to go. So I called my current drs. office to see when I am due for a pap so I can make my appointment with the new Dr. Well, it seems I am past due. Was due in February. Just another reason to walk. I used to get a card in the mail letting me know it's time. I didn't get anything.

Now to get all of my medical records released to him. From South Bay and RS. This will be fun. I actually have most of my stuff from RS. Everything up til my last IUI and IVF. Hopefully, it won't be hard to get the rest of it.

I hope you told her, "It's not me . . . it really is you." Good for you for making the change. It shouldn't be difficult to get your records. They usually just need something in writing requesting them.

Yay! I've seen that drs name all over these boards. Happy for you for the change. You just need to fill out a release form from the re and have it sent over. Yay for change!

The woman I spoke to at Dr. Ps office said she'll give me the forms to fill out there and then they will request records from both Drs.

I will bring what I have with me. I'll also give him a quick history of whats been going on. I think it's important for my new Dr. to know everything I have been through.

Here's to hoping I like him!

P.S. At least the receptionist I spoke to was pleasant. The ones over at South Bay were miserable bastards

He is my doc and you will love him! Compassionate and understands infertility and knows REs very well.

One thing, plan to wait a bit at time of appt...his office staff seem a bit disorganized so stay on top of them And he spends a lot of time with patients so he ends up running behind. But for me he is worth it.

Thank you. I have heard more good things about him than bad. So I'm excited to have a fresh set of eyes to look at my situation.

I am used to waiting. I always waited forever for my old OB.

You have to sign a release with South Bay. I went and picked my records up personally because they are such assholes I didn't trust them.

South Bay is awful with dealing with fertility. I was amazed, shocked at the ignorance. Good luck with your new dr. Glad you left.

Some offices are just terrible when you try to leave. I was TOTALLY bullied trying to leave my obgyn pratice for another. The front desk made me cry a number of times just trying to get out! Eventually my mom had to call and tell them to let me go already because I couldn't take it anymore.

Re: Breaking up with my OBGYN

Im glad you made an appt to see him - ive used him for 14 years and he is the best -but there is always a really long wait - and i see alot of people get annoyed at that - so just plan for that and i think he might really be able to help - he is definitely knowledgable in IF. Hope it goes well for you Chat Icon
