Re: Savannah, GA

We will not have to fly. It is about a 4 hour drive for us.

Has anyone stayed there or done anything fun there?

I agree it is crazy!! I fly to HHI at least 2-3 times a year and actually bought a house down there and my In Laws live there!!! I wish Jet Blue would stop there!

Re: Savannah, GA

A great book to read before you go down is "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"

It totally made me want to visit!

I read this prior to going down and it prompted an after hours break-in of the cemetary to search for the Bird Girl statue (on the cover). Had I read the blurb about the statue being moved a few years earlier due to so many visitors...it would have saved some time Chat Icon Was fun, nonetheless.

I just visited Savannah for an afternoon - we drove from Hilton Head - and found it to be a really charming city. Loved the park squares and old homes...the cobblestone and little shops.

ETA: if you watch the movie - "Midnight in the Garden..." - you will see some of the homes in it if you walk around the squares. I thought that was pretty cool.
