My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
I really like him.
Everyone was right. It was quite a wait, but sure worth it. I cannot believe how much he had to say. When I told him my old OBGYN didn't think that a very low AMH meant anything, he was baffled. That was my main reason for leaving. If she told me one more time to "Relax and go on vacation" I was gonna flip my shit.
He also said based on my scars from my Lap, there is no way she removed my endo she said she found!!! Could you imagine??? I have the belly button (light) incision and one on the right. Nothing on the left. He said you need 2 - one on left & one on right. One is to hold & move organs, the other is to laser Endo. He believes I STILL have endo I can't! I spent all of my IF coverage with IUIs and all that money on an IVF and most likely still have endo so my chances were worse then they thought!!!!!
In the meantime, he's sending me for a baseline sono, Thrombo workup and I'm going to get him my records from my OB and RE. I go back to him in about a month to go over everything. He also called me in a prescription Folic Acid because it can't hurt.
Holy Crap.
he did say that all of this may not matter with such a low AMH, but it will help us see the bigger picture. I'd like to have some answers.
We'll see.
Thanks to all the girls who recommended him. It's a little nuts in that office, but I'm glad I went. Can't wait to see what turns up.

My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
I'm glad your appointment went well, but I'm so angry for you about the endo. Mine was misdiagnosed for a very long time. I wound needing a laparotomy, only to find out about 8 years later that they hadn't removed all of the endo. So many doctors told me that the pain was all in my head, etc. I finally went to the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta for laparoscopic surgery.
These doctors should be ashamed of themselves!
I hope your new doctor is able to get you the answers you deserve!

Re: My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
I have long suspected I had endo and my first re confirmed I did when he found a chocolate cyst on each ovary but he told me it should not affect fertility. I did 5 iui and the. An Ivf with horrible egg quality and none to freeze- bfn. I went to a surgeon in manhattan and he operated and turns out I had stage 4 endo everywhere. He removed a good amount and after a few months I switched re and did a second Ivf. My egg quality was excellent and I had 9 to freeze and got pregnant with twins. So glad you have a doc now who recognizes how endo can play a role in fertility!!!!!! Wishing u all the best!!!!!!

Re: My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
Sounds like a great appointment. I'm so happy he had more of an explanation for things and has more of a plan. I hope you left there with renewed hope.

Re: My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
He's great! Is he going to do another lap on you? That's pretty scary that you don't have the three incisions! How the hell did she do your surgery then? Crazy!

Re: My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
Wow, how did you have a lap with only two incisions? That's strange. I'd definitely have him look at your records and surgical report. So he's suspecting endo?

Re: My appointment with Dr. Pillitteri
The waiting sucks but he is thorough and I think hes a great ob/gyn for IF....He did my surgery for endo years ago as well - as well as other surgeries - hes a good surgeon. I hope this change brings you lots of luck!

Sounds like you are on the way to getting some answers. I'm glad you switch doctors. It just goes back to only you know how you feel. Sometimes you just have to be an advocate for yourself.
