I have no idea about the birth certificate thing but yes donor sperm is about 600 a vial and you usually need two vials.

Are you doing home insemination or with an RE? If you're using an RE you will trigger O and time it perfectly and will not need 3 tries in a cycle. One really well-timed IUI is all you need. That doesn't mean it will work on the first try, but assuming no other issues, there's no reason it wouldn't work. Three inseminations in a single cycle is totally unnecessary.

honestly we havent gotten that far yet... our insurance doesnt cover any fertility so if we went to an RE it could cost a lot more than even 3x per

If you are paying for everything OOP, I would go to an RE. Don't do it through your OBGYN. You may waste cycles and $$ that way.I am trying to remember what it cost OOP for 1 IUI cycle from beginning to end with my old RE. I *think* it was 1,800. I don't know how much donor sperm, going through the RE, would be. It's best to go for a consult and see what's what.

My RE charged 500.00 per IUI. My IVF cycles were approx 11-12k not including medication.

A friend of mine did 6 iui's with donor sperm. Each sperm vial cost 600 and she only needed one per cycle.
