Converted to gas yesterday

Finally decided to convert from oil to gas after our crazy oil bills this winter. Had Brian from Burner King come Tuesday night for an estimate and had it installed the next day. Whole process went smooth. My husband who is a stickler for having things neat (pipe wise) was very impressed with their work. They left the place clean as well. Definitely recommend Burner King. Can't wait to see how much our gas bills will be next winter. Hoping for a big savings.

Our gas bill for Jan and Feb was about $400, so $200 a month- I don't recall what we spent on oil last year but I know it was way more than that- and we kept the thermostat at 68 and went a little higher if needed.

I asked DH, he said we spent about $800 a month this time last year. The new furnace was about $6k but we got a $550 rebate from NYSEG.

I would love to switch to gas, but am so afraid of the cost.

We bought a wood burning fireplace insert and that saved us tons of money on oil this year! Since December, we have only spent about $450 on oil. We got free wood that DH cut and split himself.

The same for us. With the rebate from national grid it came to a bit less than $6000

We went with The Fireplace Store in Seaford. They were great and a breeze to deal with. I highly recommend them - And I highly recommend the fireplace insert!
