Pancreatitus
How dangerous is this? I am reading online someone should be hospitalized. If a dr diagnoses it, should it be followed up by gastro dr too?

Re: Pancreatitus
Yes, its very dangerous and can be fatal. My DH had to be hospitalized and treated. He was in a ton of pain too. I'd definitely see a Gastro or your regular PCP asap

Yes, def get checked out ASAP. If not treated, it can be fatal. Has this been diagnosed or suspected?
I know of a woman who was in the hospital getting her gallbladder removed, and ended up there for 3 months because of pancreatitis.

Re: Pancreatitus
It's no joke and should not be fooled around with. I'd see a specialist ASAP

Re: Pancreatitus
I got my gallbladder removed two years ago 6 weeks after giving birth and they nicked my pancreas during the surgery and I had pancreatitus for a little over a month. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and I was in the worst pain. I was at Good Sam at first and they couldn't control the pancreatitus or the high fevers I kept getting daily so they transferred me to Mount Sinai in the city with a top doctor in the field and he was awesome. It was a horrible recovery though, especially after having a c-section 6 weeks earlier, and a newborn and a toddler at home.
