food help needed asap
im having a surprise party for DH tomorrow...the count keeps on changing and now i am second guessing how much food i ordered
as of now, i am only having 12 people
People are coming at 5:30pm, dinner is arriving at 7:30pm
i have chips, a veggie platter and cheese and crackers being put out at 5:30.
i am having Italian food catered - i ordered half trays of the following which says it serves 10-12 people:
salad
pasta
shrimp and pasta
chicken parm
veal piccata
ice cream cake, cookies and fruit for dessert
do i need another main dish? the Italian place said 4 dishes for 12 people is fine, but im always worried about not having enough
i can keep the order as is
i can add another half tray of something (ideas welcome)
or i was thinking of adding 2 or 3 bar pizzas/pizzettes (small appetizer sized pizzas)

I think you have enough in the main dinner category honestly...2 hours is a pretty large gap though for guests so maybe a hot appetizer to add? Get some pizza rolls cut up from the Italian restaurant or rice balls?

i can def add those - DH loves rice balls so thats a great idea
the timing of the party is more like this:
guests are arriving between 5:30 and 6
DH and I will be home around 6:30
I was told food will be delivered between 7 and 7:30
but either way, rice balls are filling and people can eat them with the meal

I would probably add another hot app in addition to the rice balls just to be on the safe side. Maybe a Stromboli?
