Taking 21 month-old twins for swim lessons by yourself?
They're 18 months now - will be 21m in July - until recently, I was planning to take them for swim lessons at our park pool by myself come summer..... Because ds used to be kind of sedentary but now that I've had him treated by a chiropractor for some misalignments, he runs around like the energizer bunny. And dd varies between that and clinging to me. But when we go to the playground, they run in opposite directions. So I said to dh now I think it will be too risky for me to bring them to the pool alone. He thinks I should try it.
But now I think it's crazy dangerous! They're both fearless.
Any experiences / thoughts?
TIA

Are they 1:1 lessons? I took my kids around that age no problem Just held their hands or held one and held others hand until they got in pool.

My boys will be 3 this summer. There has been no point in their lives so far where I would have felt comfortable having them in or near water alone. I admit, I'm a little overly cautious, but they don't listen and the water scares me with kids who don't swim yet.

I agree. I still have a hard time taking them to the park by myself. Like the pp said though, if lessons are 1:1 then you might be ok.

I am pretty easy going and take my three boys by myself almost everywhere..,,but not to swimming lessons unless they were private lessons1/1.

Not a parent of twins but, have taken my two boys to swimming alone (toddler and infant) and found it to be challenging.

Re: Taking 21 month-old twins for swim lessons by yourself?
I would not, I am pretty laid back but near the pool I would be nervous, I am assuming these are one to one lessons and you don't need to be in the pool with them
it is possible but I wouldn't, I would be afraid of one running off while tending to the other and its so slippery by the pool, they could fall and hurt themselves or fall in.
playground yes pool no

Water is the one thing I wont do. I have 3 kids under 3 and am out with them all day everyday alone we do EVERYTHING all together, except water. It makes me too nervous, all it takes is one moment.
